Split and Zadar are very well connected by bus; throughout the year, there are plenty of daily departures between the cities. Travel times range from 2.15 hours for buses that take the highway, to about 3.15 hours for buses that take the more scenic coastal road.
Tickets are not expensive, the average price is about 15 Euro for a one-way ticket, occasional early bird campaigns offers prices from 10 Euro. Some bus companies offer discounts on return, child and pensioner ticket. Tickets can be bought at the bus station or online.
Buses between Split and Zadar run frequently; during the daytime, there is at least one departure every hour. In total, there are about 20 daily departures during the summer, with slightly fewer in the winter. Below, you can see a list of some of the popular departures.

The departure bus station in Split is located at the address Obala Kneza Domagoja br.12, 21000 Split, which is in the center of town, next to the ferry port and the train station. You can find more info about the bus station here:
In Zadar buses arrive at the intercity bus terminal, which is located 15-20 walk from the old town / city center. The address of the Bus station is: Ante Starcevica 1, 23000 Zadar.
The fastest route has a driving time of around 2.15 Hours, the most scenic route along the coastal road, has a driving time of about 3.15 minutes.
Expect to pay around 15 Euro for a one-way ticket. If you are looking to do a round trip, you might consider buying a return ticket, which is discount by some companies. Child (Below 12) is available from most operators.
More or less every hour during daytime, the earliest bus leave around 6 am and the latest at 9 pm, there is one night bus operating on the route.
Yes, if you are not in a hurry consider taking one of the buses following the coastal road, get a seat at the left side of the bus, you will for sure enjoy the view!
If by "stop" you mean whether there is a break along the way, then the answer is no. That is to say, several of the departures have one or more scheduled stops en route to drop off and pick up new passengers.
majority of buses have WIFI and air-condition, on some departures you might find extra legroom and power sockets.
Each passenger as a general rule, can bring a suitcase and a smaller bag / bag pack. Luggage for the hold might be subject to charge, so make sure bring a few euro coins.
