This hotel was a great coincidence, after initially thinking we booked another hotel by mistake we realised we booked for this! The hotel has a bit of a whimsical design with a modern finish, which we found unique. The staff were very polite and thoughtful. Delicious and well made breakfast is included with the stay, and the service is very lovely with how kind they are.

The place is perfectly located - a few minutes walking to downtown. The breakfast choice is all you need, and our room was super spacious (living room + bedroom) and had a nice Mountain View.

Coffee bar was excellent—staff makes great Americans and cappuccino! Front desk was helpful arranging my boat trip and car service to Dubrovnik. So quiet even though it’s right on the main entrance square—lots of vibrant activity just outside your window if you want to enjoy that, or just close up and it’s peace & quiet.

We will definitely recommend Hotel Sara to our family and friends.
If we have the opportunity to go back to Dubrota ( I truly hope so) we will love to stay at Hotel Sara again.

Kotor is a well preserved historical city with an impressive fortress wall stretching up the mountainside. There are a few interesting churches. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Some of the restaurants outside the old city walls are fine dining. Kotor attracts large cruise ships, so the town can become inundated by large groups of tourists.

We loved it, but if you don't like cats don't go!
We loved it, but if you don't like cats don't go! They are everywhere, I've never seen so many in one place in all my life. We found it really heartwarming how well they were treated by both the locals and the tourists. Food stations and little beds for them in the park. Wonderful! Kotor is a stunning old town, full of history and the scenery is breathtaking. We stayed for 4 nights and that was plenty of time to do the all things we wanted. Any longer and we may have been a tiny bit bored, as its such a small place. I would definitely recommend for a short break though.

Kotor is a beautiful walled town, very clean and full of delightful shops, cafes and restaurants. Very busy when the numerous cruise ships tip their passengers off to take a tour. The church bells ring out giving a wonderful atmosphere. Cats are in many areas with a charity-funded neutering campaign ensuring lots are well fed and cared for.

We were in Kotor for adventure and loved the trails and mountains.
The fortress is interesting but you need to be fit to manage the climbing.
The Old Town is interesting and easy to navigate around.
A lot of restaurants however most are serving very similar menus, wine lists are much the same and the local drinks options are really good both in quality and price.

It's great for a relaxing, time in nature or just general down time. It's got everything from water to mountains to trails depending on your interest and the time of the year.
Personally, it was great for some relaxing, down-time. I visited in shoulder season, where it was too cold to get into the water but perfect in terms of (less) crowds and ease to get around.
Kotor Old Town is simply charming, to trek through, to walk around or simply to enjoy a quiet evening with great food. It's lovely place to visit any time of day.
I would highly recommend a visit to Kotorska Suvenirnica in the Old Town. It's got a unique mix of souvenirs. Just ask for Marko he's an Encyclopedia of information and just a delight to talk to. We spent so long in there just talking about all the different souvenirs from cat magnets to olive oil, Christian saints, world maps and Murano jewellery.
The area in general is serene. A walk by the bay side and a good seafood lunch Konoba Portun restaurant, was the highlight for me. There are a number of lovely places. This was the only one I tried. And I loved it.
Other things to know:
The city is known for its unique cats and its love for cats.
Djir Taxi App is the best way to get a local taxi and get around.
In general, most people are very helpful and friendly. But that's also because they are mindful about hustlers - so best to do your research on prices and cabs.

I would recommend staying at Kotor over Budva.
I would recommend staying at Kotor over Budva. Eventhough we visited at April there were so many people. It was a nice, historical city. One downside is it was quite expensive and there wasn’t enough healty food options. The restaurants were overly crowded and the food was bad for the price we paid. The services was slow but they still took service fees everywhere. If you want to go swimming i would definitely recommend Budva not Kotor.
The appartment is located close to the eastern entrace of the old town. It is a small but cozy place close to all the historic sights. There are tons of great restaurants within a few minutes from it. The best of our stay, however, was our host. From day 1, Radonja made us feel part of his family. He not only answered all of our questions but he went out of his way to make sure we always felt at home. His kindness, knowledge and love for Montenegro make us want to come back to this beautiful place ...
Breakfast was fine. Veranda overlooking the waterfront. This is a small, 2 star dated hotel and the room was small and spartan. No chair but had a TV with international stations, few in English. Many German stations. Air conditioning worked well thankfully. Room was 2nd floor with window next to hotel sign. This was actually quaint and as I expected since I was there only a day and night. 8 minute drive to Kotor and parked in the public parking space next to the old town.,
Small boutique hotel with incredible attention to detail, helpful staff and luxurious rooms. The location is amazing with private access to the sea and far enough away from the old town to feel private. Perfect place for a romantic stay! Great spa, gym and hotel facilities. Only hotel that gave us bubbles at check in and did a proper turn down service at night. The food at the restaurant was one of the best meals we’ve had in Montenegro! Would highly recommend staying here!
In the walls of the old town, attic apartment with I called the penthouse.
Great facilities and great balcony to sit out on.
At night the saxaphone player in the restrunt t below entertained us having a glass of wonderful montenegro wine.
Host was fantastic helped with anything we needed and booked us on his dad's speed boat for a tour , which was fantastic.
If you want a great location , great room , great host in the most beautiful place . Book this room .
New hotel , Very clean, spacious rooms, great views, attentive staff, quite and charming area. Walking distance by the beach road to Kotor city about 1 hour or 7 euro by taxi to Perast city or Kotor Old town good location. Supermarket near by and lots of cafes options by the beach. Wonderful stay overall. Good breakfast with delicious freshly baked cottage cheese pie and much more.
The location is brilliant, less than 5 minutes to the town and old town walls. It is very spacious, comfortably fitting all 6 of us. The living areas had plenty of seating. The host was very decent, spoke great English and gave us plenty of ideas for day trips. All in all, a really good place to fit a large family and well placed for visiting the sights of Montenegro.
The hotel is incredibly central, right in the middle of Kotor Old Town. It's a nostalgic hotel with very beautiful decoration. The balconies with mountain views are extremely good. The staff are very helpful and accommodating.
We were really satisfied with our stay and would definitely choose to stay here again if we return.
Absolutely AMAZING!!!! The view was just breathtaking! The apartment was very beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The owner is friendly and made the check in process so easy.
Old town Kotor is just 10 min walk away and all the services are just a few steps away. Totally recommended. Hope to come back soon.
Outstanding views upon Kotor’s Bay, and close to everything: the apartments are a 10-min walk away from the beachside and 4 km from the Old Town. Excellent hospitality: we received a fantastic welcome from the manager, who provided us with many valuable tips to make the most of our vacation in Montenegro.
Perfect location, in the most center of Kotor town, in front of old town. Beautiful view. All needed facilities are near to the apartment.
In apartments you can find just all what you need for comfy living. Strong internet connection. Very accommodative host, who is always ready to help. Just great
The location, the views of the sea, the rooms are huge! Love this hotel. It's perfect for exploring Old Town, and hikes to the top of the mountain. Kotor is a very special place. You are very centrally located to everything! I'll definitely stay here again! The free breakfast is outstanding.
Facilities and hotel style is beautiful. Location right inside the old town is amazing. Very friendly staff, we asked for a corkscrew and even they didn’t have one handy, the lady from front desk went to a restaurant nearby to find one, that is remarkable service. Breakfast is delicious
Wonderful view. Becir Aga made our stay very comfortable. The room is wide enough, clean like 5 stars. The view is wonderful. Near to everywhere, (old town, supermarket, mall, shore). There is not any option for hotel in the old town, apartments are most common.
Very friendly and welcoming host. Gave us good advices for meals and is knowledgeable of the history of the city and Montenegro. Perfect stay for multiple days, walking distance from good restaurants and the old town and far enough from the docked cruise ships.
Everything we needed was in the apartment and the view from the balcony was stunning. Close to the old town and the beach. Convenient parking place. The hostess was very helpful, she gave a lot of tips for staying in Montenegro and Kotor.
I had a trouble booking at Apartment Silva for the check-in and I changed my reservation to this apartment in the Kotor old town. The host helped me on the first day for the quick check-in. The location is visible with the sign.
At the Old Wine House Montenegro we stepped back in time in the Old Town.
This house was built in the 12th Century as a wine and olive oil warehouse.
Truly amazing to live with so much history around us. Fascinating.
Very nice apartment, modern decor, comfortable beds, about a 15/20 minute walk from the old town of Kotor, taxi to the old town from the apartment is roughly 2/3 euros, onsite parking which is great for Montenegro
Very close to the old town of Kotor. Parking lot in the bus station inside, is free.
The interior of the apartment is very good and the owner is very enthusiastic to help solve the problem.
Great location in old town. Only a short walk to get a taxi to go to Port Montenegro. About 15 euros. Any time day or night. Small convenience store for water ect 5 minute walk
