Together with the island of Krk, Cres is the biggest Croatian island. From Cres, excursions can be organized to the neighbouring islands and the continent.
The island of Cres itself is suitable for exploring by bike or by foot along the marked trails. Visit the natural phenomenon on the island, the Vrana Lake which is the drinking water source for the whole island and some of the surrounding islands. Boat trips are organized around the island; a visit to the Blue cave or some of the numerous beautiful beaches like Lubenice. A very popular place to visit is the eco centre “Caput Insulae” where you can see the griffon vulture, a protected species.
Take a boat trip to the island of Krk and visit some of its places like Baska, Malinska, Omisalj… Take a wine tasting tour and try the autochthonous wine Zlahtina from Vrbnik. Visit the little island of Kosljun which is proclaimed a forest reserve and a monument of culture. If you visit the island of Mali Losinj, you might see dolphins because this is their habitat.
Regarding the continent, from Cres you can visit the riviera of Crikvenica and Opatija with its tourist places like Crikvenica, Novi Vinodolski, Senj… Whole day excursions are organized to the national parks Plitvice, Northern Velebit and Risnjak.
